Our process for designing and implementing a solution to your manufacturing challenges is comprehensive, tried and true.
Here is a summary of our process:
- Visit with customer
- Define challenge
- Understand the Customer’s concerns and goals
- Define scope (Where to start and how far do we go?)
- Define the budget (Try to understand the customer’s ROI)
- Understand the timeframe requirements to determine the schedule
- Develop Solution Concept(s)
- Utilize Bay Industrial’s experience to “Brain Storm” ideas
- Determine the best options
- Compare options to the budget and schedule
- Draft a written description of the practical concept(s)
- Review the concept(s) with the customer
- Provide order-of-magnitude pricing on preferred option
- Determine if the concept(s) and pricing are acceptable
- Come to an agreement on the best solution to develop
- Finalize the proposal including “Scope of Work and Sequence of Operation”
- Provide high level concept drawings if required
- Negotiate changes and receive Purchase Order
- Engineer design details and material list required
- Validate (vet) design and commercial items with customer
- Make final design and scope of work changes prior to starting fabrication
- Receive Customer Acceptance and “Buy-in” of final changes
- Build any required Prototypes and/or First Article units
- Customer to approve Prototypes/First Article prior to full build
- Kick-off Manufacturing
- Buy raw materials
- Order commercial items(long lead)
- Building sub-assemblies (machining, welding, fabrication)
- Review larger or more complex projects with customer
- Modify sub-assemblies if necessary
- Final Assembly
- Wiring, Controls, Programming
- Test & debug
- Finalize cosmetics
- Customer run-off (they will inspect functionality, safety, controls, etc.)
- Delivery
- Installation
- Commissioning (training)
